About me
Retired and living in a small Pennine town around five miles from Rochdale in the Halifax direction, close to our children and grandchildren.
Along with my wife and daughters, we are all retired North West clog Morris dancers, and have danced in some weird places!
I started writing around 2001/2002 after a lunchtime walk in a cemetery close to where I was working at the time, and it just carried on.
My poetry divides itself into a number of styles, including haiku and Lancashire dialect, and is largely observational. I try to paint a picture with words in the same way that an artist does with paints and colours – I hope it works.
My first collection "81 Kites" is now available on Amazon.
This website and blog contains a range of poems that I’ve written over the years, a number of which I have successfully used at open mic nights (By successful, I mean that people didn’t throw things at me!).
I’ve also posted, or am in the process of posting, a number of photographs either of Littleborough and the surrounding areas, or photographs taken out and about on our travels, and sometimes combined the photographs with a poem.
I enjoy writing poems for pictures, and have written a selection of pieces for a number of Artists.
